Deja’s Favs

For my first official post, I thought it would be fun to share with everyone my favorite books and genres. I have always enjoyed reading and continue to read more every day. My reading interests are typically in fantasy, mystery, and romance. I have always been interested in these genres due to my creative imagination.

Books are like little time capsules that you can open and explore the wonderful world inside them. Something about reading a book that is soaked in the magical world with wonders and curiosities feels like home. A lot of the books I enjoy can transport me to worlds where anything is possible.

Mysteries have always piqued my interest because who doesn’t love a good mystery? Finding out the mystery with the characters just leaves the reader on the edge of their seat, turning each page with more and more eagerness to solve the crime.

Romances on the other hand are my guilty pleasure. The feeling of butterflies and my heart in my ears is such a euphoric feeling especially when reading a book. Romances can sometimes be seen as cliche and corny but to be fair those tend to be some of the best kind. The kind that leaves you wondering if these characters could exist in the real world.

I know all readers hate the dreaded question “What’s your favorite book?” Because trust and believe, I HATE this question too! But here is a list of them with a brief blurb about why I enjoyed them:

  • Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston – Poston’s writing in this book is exquisite. This was my first time reading one of her books and I want more! Her imagery and use of visualization (something I appreciate in a book) were phenomenal. I could not recommend it enough.
  • Heartless Hunter by Kristen Ciccarelli – I love love love her writing. The second book in this duology dropped in February and I am almost done with it. I plan to write a review on both books for you guys 🙂
  • The Ballad of Never After by Stephanie Garber- Garber is another good author who deserves all the flowers. This was my favorite of the three in this series. The main relationship is what really made me give it five stars if I am honest. #1 Jacks lover.
  • Quicksilver by Callie Hart – UGH I got recommended this one on BookTok of course and it was so good. Was it a long book? Yes, but I ate it up anyway. The book was super engaging and featured lots of good dialogue.
  • The Folk of the Air Series by Holly Black – There is not anything that she has made that I did not like. This series still sticks in the back of my mind and I finished it almost a year ago. Such a good read and I highly recommend it!!!!

Now, I truly could go on and on about all the books I have enjoyed but I think this helps give everyone an idea of what kind of books I read. Thanks for listening to me yap about my favs and I hope you guys continue to stick around! 🙂
